Weekly Priority Planner
Turns a brain dump of tasks into a prioritized weekly plan using an impact/effort framework, with a realistic daily load.
Weekly Priority Planner is a free AI skill for personal productivity. Turns a brain dump of tasks into a prioritized weekly plan using an impact/effort framework, with a realistic daily load. It works with Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and is ready to use out of the box.
About this skill
Weekly Priority Planner takes an unstructured list of everything on someone's plate and turns it into a realistic, prioritized weekly schedule. It applies an impact-vs-effort framework to rank tasks, flags what shouldn't be attempted this week, and distributes the top priorities across days based on a sane daily capacity — not by cramming everything in. Built for people who end every Sunday with a to-do list that has no order to it.
What it does
Given a raw list of tasks/commitments for the week (and optional known fixed commitments like meetings), the skill outputs a prioritized plan: top 3 must-do items, a full task list ranked by impact/effort, a day-by-day distribution respecting realistic daily capacity, and an explicit 'not this week' list for lower-priority items.
What is included
- Impact/effort prioritization framework
- Top-3 must-do identification
- Day-by-day task distribution with realistic capacity limits
- Explicit deferred/not-this-week list
- Support for fixed commitments (meetings, deadlines) as constraints
How to use it
1. Download the SKILL.md file 2. Upload it into a new Claude conversation 3. Paste your full task list/brain dump for the week 4. Receive a prioritized, day-by-day weekly plan
Examples
Tasks this week: finish client proposal, respond to 40 backlogged emails, plan Q3 budget, gym 3x, call insurance about claim, review new hire's first project, prep for Thursday board meeting, fix broken website contact form, read that book for book club Friday.
TOP 3 THIS WEEK 1. Finish client proposal (high impact, moderate effort) 2. Prep for Thursday board meeting (high impact, fixed deadline) 3. Fix broken website contact form (high impact — active revenue leak, low effort) FULL PRIORITY LIST (impact/effort) ... [ranked list] DAY-BY-DAY Mon: Client proposal (deep work AM), backlog emails (PM, batch) Tue: Q3 budget planning, review new hire's project Wed: Client proposal finalize, fix contact form Thu: Board meeting prep AM, board meeting PM Fri: Book club prep (light), insurance call NOT THIS WEEK Gym 3x (defer to 1x, protect deep work blocks) — reconsider next week with lighter task load
