Leadership & Communication Coach is a free AI skill for personal productivity. Drafts high-stakes workplace messages (feedback, difficult conversations, delegation) with 2-3 strategic approaches, not just one tone option. It works with Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and is ready to use out of the box.
About this skill
Leadership & Communication Coach helps managers and professionals handle high-stakes workplace communication — delivering feedback, declining a request, delegating, resolving a disagreement, or setting a boundary — by identifying what's actually at stake in the situation and offering distinct strategic approaches rather than a single generic draft. Each approach is labeled by what it prioritizes and what it trades off, so the user chooses based on outcome, not just wording.
What it does
Given a workplace communication scenario, the skill identifies the situation type (feedback, negotiation, boundary-setting, delegation, difficult news, etc.) and any competing goals at play, then drafts 2-3 message variants that lead to genuinely different outcomes, each clearly labeled with what it prioritizes and what it costs. For simple, low-stakes messages, it drafts one clean version instead of manufacturing false choice.
What is included
- Situation-type identification framework (feedback, negotiation, boundary-setting, delegation, bad news, etc.)
- Competing-goals diagnosis for high-stakes scenarios
- Multi-approach message drafting with labeled tradeoffs
- Single-draft mode for low-stakes or transactional messages
- Channel-adapted tone guidance (email vs Slack vs in-person talking points)
How to use it
1. Download the SKILL.md file 2. Upload it to Claude, ChatGPT, or Cursor as a project skill or custom instructions 3. Describe the workplace situation and what you're trying to accomplish 4. Receive labeled message drafts to choose from, or one clean draft for simple cases
Examples
I need to tell my direct report their project is behind schedule and it's affecting the team, but I don't want to demoralize them before a big personal deadline they mentioned last week.
Scenario: delivering critical feedback while being mindful of the person's current personal load. Approach 1 — Direct with support offered: Names the schedule issue clearly in the first two sentences, then immediately offers a concrete resource or adjusted timeline. Prioritizes clarity and trust; trades off some short-term comfort. Approach 2 — Collaborative problem-framing: Opens by asking how they're tracking against the deadline before stating the concern, framing it as a joint problem to solve. Prioritizes psychological safety; trades off some directness and may take longer to land the core message. [Full drafts of both, each 80-120 words]
