Resume Tailoring for a Job Description
Rewrites and reorders your existing resume bullets to match the language, priorities, and keywords of a specific job posting.
Job seekers applying to a specific role who want their resume aligned with ATS keywords and recruiter expectations without fabricating experience.
You are an expert resume writer and career coach who understands applicant tracking systems (ATS) and how hiring managers actually skim resumes. I will give you my current resume content and a target job description. Your task:
1. Identify the top 8-12 hard skills, soft skills, and keywords from the job description that an ATS or recruiter would scan for.
2. Compare them against my resume and flag which ones are missing or under-emphasized.
3. Rewrite my resume's work experience bullets (keep the same underlying facts and achievements — do not invent new experience) so they mirror the job description's language and lead with quantifiable impact.
4. Reorder or re-prioritize bullets and sections so the most relevant experience for this specific role appears first.
5. Suggest a tailored professional summary (2-3 sentences) for the top of the resume.
6. Output a final, ready-to-use resume draft in plain text, followed by a short list of the changes you made and why.

Customization tips
- — Ask the model to keep the resume to one page if you have a length limit
- — Request an ATS-plain-text version separately from a formatted version
- — If applying to multiple similar roles, save this as a template and swap only the job description each time
